I never heard of “Digital Twins” until a friend of mine mentioned it to me and told me it might be an interesting topic for one of my blog posts. Because I had no idea what this buzzword was all about I thought it would be fun to invest some time in getting a basic understanding of the concept of “Digital Twins”.

The Metaverse

The Metaverse has been receiving a lot of “buzz” lately. The reason for this is that Facebook has been sharing its Strategic Roadmap with the public and in this Roadmap, the Metaverse is one of its key strategies.

Solving your computer performance issues with Windows Task Manager – Part 3

In my previous post, I went into detail about the columns in the “Process” tab. These columns can be of great help when solving performance issues of programs you are running or the performance of your computer in general. In case you are not able to do it yourself, it supports you in doing a basic root-cause analysis that makes your Tech department very happy. It is great for them to receive a constructive problem description instead of: “computer is slow, fix it”.

Solving your computer performance issues with Windows Task Manager – Part 2

In my previous post, I showed how easy it is to check the memory that is used by all the programs and processes you are running on your computer. Additionally, I showed how you can quickly shut down programs that suddenly freeze up and can’t be closed and restarted again. This is all done by using Task Manager. One of the basic features that a Tech supporter checks in order to do a root cause analysis for performance issues of programs and applications on your computer.

Solving your computer performance issues with Windows Task Manager – Part 1

Do you know the feeling of annoyance when you start up your computer or a specific program and you have to wait for ages? Or of getting a little upset when a program just doesn’t work at all or suddenly stops? I do and I think a lot of people that frequently use a computer at the office run into this situation now and then as well. It’s very frustrating and leads to restarting your computer over and over again without a real solution, leaving you without a clue why it is so slow. Especially not having a clue about the root cause of the problem is the biggest annoyance I have for myself: I want to fix it but I don’t know how so I just keep going while frustration is building up.
